How to Care for your Resin Piece

Resin, although tough, is prone to yellowing and scratches and is unable to withstand high temperatures.

To ensure the longevity of your resin pieces, please follow the quick guide below:

- Reduce exposure to direct sunlight. Resin, as with plastics, will yellow over a long period. Exposure to direct sunlight will quicken the yellowing process.

- Handle your pieces with care. Avoid bumping/scratching/dropping your resin pieces. Doing so will cause scratches, dents, and if dropped from a height, may cause leaking in oil shakers. Depending on the condition of the piece, we may assist in repairing your piece at a nominal fee, whenever possible.

- Avoid exposure to harsh chemicals and cleaning products. The resin may react to certain solvents which may cause deterioration in their structure or appearance. To clean your item, simply remove any metal bits, and gently wash it with soap and water.

- Avoid placing hot pots and pans directly onto resin. Epoxy has temperature limits and anything out of the range can cause the molecular structure to change and soften or distort.

We hope this will help increase the lifespan of your resin pieces. Should you have further questions, you can either send us a DM on Instagram, or email us at smolpitato@gmail.com
